October 8, 2026
As of October 2026, Cay Village is about half finished. The open half is a spa, a liquor store, a furniture showroom and a padel court. The unfinished half is the gym floor, the Pilates and yoga studios, a health café and the Calico Jaks restaurant. Those are the places that would fill an ordinary Tuesday. The open businesses earn their keep from boats, guests and the community's own construction. The ones that would anchor a resident's day are still listed as coming soon.
Getting a clear picture takes a few pages. Palm Cay keeps separate sites for the spa, the gym, the liquor store and the furniture showroom, along with the main homepage and a construction gallery. Each was updated at a different point this year.
The best way to read the current labels is to see how the earlier ones held up.
The summer 2024 openings came, but later than planned. The Cove Club's January 2025 date has not been publicly confirmed as met. In January 2024 Mr. Hannaby-Cummins described the scale of the work this way:
"We have over ten different projects. We have projected sales over many phases."
Cay Village was one of the projects he named. It is being built alongside new residential phases, and the order things open in reflects that.
Dockside Cafe is the earliest stop inside the gate. It serves breakfast and lunch from 7am to 4pm Sunday through Thursday and until 5pm on Friday and Saturday, and it also carries provisions and clothing. On days when the café closes before the afternoon ends, there is less flexibility inside the gate later in the day.
The Island Spa is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00, with treatments and spa days booked through its own site. Ellie Mitchell is listed as spa manager. The site identifies the spa's name as a Palm Cay trademark.
Port Liquor describes itself as a curated store in Cay Village, "just steps from the marina, pools and residences." It carries wine, beer, spirits, snacks, chocolates and hosting basics. Its hours run longer than anything else on this list: 10am to 8pm Monday through Thursday, 10am to 10pm Friday and Saturday, and 11am to 7pm on Sunday. Pickup and delivery go through Total Booze.
Cay Design has an on-site showroom selling furniture and design services. Its site describes it as a trading style of Palm Cay Development.
The padel court is outdoors and can be booked online by residents, members and guests. Right now it is the only bookable part of The Gym at Palm Cay.
That gives a full day inside the gate today: breakfast at Dockside, a padel match, a spa afternoon and a stop at Port Liquor before dinner. An ordinary workout is not yet part of that day, at least not in the new building.
Look at who each open business is set up to serve. Port Liquor's homepage says it serves "residents, guests and yachts," and the section right after that is aimed at charter guests. It offers "convenient wine, beer & spirits delivery for guests chartering from Palm Cay" and shows a Dream Yacht Charter logo. Its contact form has an optional field for "Company / Yacht Name." The marina it serves has 194 slips, with fuel and a concierge. A liquor store on that dock has customers from day one.
Cay Design's customers are just as easy to find, because new homes are going up nearby. The construction schedule includes One Marina Phase 4, The Palms Phase 2 and Little Palms Phase 2, and each finished unit needs furnishing. The spa sells day visits as well as regular treatments, which brings in visiting guests too.
The gym, studios and health café depend on regular members coming back week after week. They are a different kind of business, and the developer is opening them later.
The Gym at Palm Cay's site was last updated September 2, 2026. Read section by section, it shows the following:
The same site lists daily hours of 08:00 to 20:00. Those hours apply to the facility as a whole, so for now they cover padel. The coming-soon notices under each section are the clearer guide to what you can actually use.
Older material shows a fitness center that came before this one. A 2023 Palm Cay page describes a fully equipped gym, free to full members, with seasonal yoga and Pilates classes. That page predates the new building, so check with the club office before assuming the older setup still runs as described.
Calico Jaks is the last piece, and the developer's own pages spell it two ways. The January photo is captioned "Calico Jak Bar," and the July homepage lists "Calico Jaks Restaurant" as under construction. No public source gives an opening date, a menu or an operator. No source links it to the Calico Jack's on West Bay Street either. Until Palm Cay announces it, Calico Jaks is a building with a name.
The Cove Club was planned as a separate members' club for Cove and One Marina members. The 2023 newsletter described Mediterranean food and drink plus concierge services, including bag storage, parcel delivery and a collection room. The latest Cove Club image in the construction gallery is captioned July 2024. Nothing published since confirms that it has opened. For eligible owners, the parcel and collection services would make the most practical difference, so the club office is the place to ask for a current status.
The Pink Octopus at the Beach Club is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, taking reservations at (242) 826 4534. Its page was last updated in June 2025 and gives two closing times, 10pm in the header and 9pm in the body. Email [email protected] to confirm before booking a late table. If your guests are not members, they need a reservation confirmation from the restaurant or OpenTable before the gate will let them in. Members' club pages say full membership is for residents only.
None of Palm Cay's public pages give a date for when the coming-soon half of Cay Village will open. Earlier targets slipped, and the overall build-out runs to 2030. Each "coming soon" label switches to a booking link when its facility opens, so the gym, spa and liquor sites are the places to watch.
